You’ll Be Missed, Patsy!
Earlier this month, I mentioned in “It’s a Conspiracy!” that one of my bestest friends and one of the most awesome people in the entire existence of World of Warcraft had his account hacked. After extensively searching through his account, Draccos found that thousands of gold were gone, all of his gear capable of being sold had vanished, and a number of characters who he had been leveling on a myriad of servers no longer breathed. He was, needless to say, enraged by this violation.
I was heartbroken.1
Draccos is one of those people who exhibit an unfailing enthusiasm for life. His laughter is infectious and his determination when undertaking a task is enviable. He might not be the most knowledgeable person when it comes to the game, but his drive to excel and his modesty results in exactly the type of person you want to take under wing; with time, effort, and a little bit of know-how, Draccos could have easily been one of the best players I have ever met in World of Warcraft. He’s already one of the sweetest and most amazing people that I have ever had the opportunity to know.

I think back on all of the wonderful, memorable moments that he shared with us and can’t help but grin. His first foray into Karazhan left the entire guild — who was on Vent at the time eagerly anticipating his reaction — in stitches. The day that he acquired his flying mount2 was equally as amusing. In return, Draccos threw together a collage of all of the meaningful events in his character’s existence and then posted it on the forums with a moving message that thanked us for our efforts.3 The evening that I dragged his sorry butt into Gruul’s Lair with The Brethren was exceptionally humorous; not only was it Draccos’s first time in that instance but he also managed to snag a Pauldrons of the Fallen Champion token from High King Maulgore, resulting in his first piece of Tier 4. My screen was filled with pink text in the form of mindless, gleeful, enthusiastic babble as he thanked me for the opportunity to come along with us — for nearly twenty minutes!
On the Scarlet Crusade US roleplaying server, where many of we Feathermooners have forged the fledgling roleplaying guild House Al’shar, Draccos roleplayed an endearing troll shaman by the name Rezcor. However, that’s not how many of us knew of this notable House Al’shar character; we fondly referred to him as “Patsy”, the lovable lackey of the Al’shar girls. Patsy doted on both Tallaa and Rach, seeing to their needs as they traveled Azeroth and amusing them with his antics. When Rach was overwhelmed by the close press of another individual while in town, Patsy dutifully stepped forward and told him to move or be slapped — sending all of us on Vent at the time into gales of laughter.
I make this post this afternoon because earlier this week when I logged onto Piroska to check my mail, I saw the following letter:

That’s right: in light of recent events and his attending college in the fall, Draccos has decided to leave the game. And while I’m saddened by our loss, I know that he’ll be just as successful in real life as he was in game. Goodbye, Patsy — you’ll be missed!
