Screenshotted for Posterity

I was taking the opportunity this morning¹ to go through the contents of my bloated Screenshots directory. Oh, man, do I ever have memories stored in that folder! The entire ordeal made me feel more than just a little nostalgic.

However, in doing so I stumbled across more than a few screenshots that I’d made but never used. You know the ones I’m talking about; after someone says something odd or bizarre or creepy or just utterly hilarious, you yelled out “SSed!” and immediately take a screenshot. Perhaps you intend to use them later to blackmail your friends or fellow guildmates, or perhaps you just wanted to have a copy saved so that you could giggle again in the future when you look over the images again. I seem to have a slew of these but nothing ever came of them.

Until today.

I present to the Internet and World of Warcraft blogosphere a shot collection of the aforementioned screenshots. I’ve tried my hardest to keep any of the more esoteric inside jokes out because, well, you just wouldn’t understand.

And, just for the record, I was very tempted to name this post something regarding the word “shit” due to the number of times the word appears in these images. There’s a whole lot of it there!

Time that should have been spent packing for the Big Move. ↩

Typhoonandrew: Ah, the skill of the trash talking is one acquired only much hardship and perseverance, young one. It is the mark of a true master to be able to dish it out so well. He who masters the art of the trash talker may then progress to the fine and ancient art of the ninjahug.

Solidstate: Thankies! I had many, many, many more that I wanted to include, but they were either family/work unfriendly or so mired in inside jokes that most people would have scratched their heads and shrugged.

Maybe I’ll do a follow up in the future with some others that I neglected to add.

Netra: There will be an email coming your way. And you have just served the role of the muse; I now have an idea on a couple of articles that I should write in the foreseeable future…

Knurd: Woe be to he that fails to understand the hilarity of World of Wacraft screenshots.

Kestrel: Do eet, do eet! I’m not as bad as many people I’ve met, but I’m a total screenshot addict. In particular, I have more pictures of roleplaying gatherings or interactions than a girl should sanely posses.
