Illidan Ain’t Got Nothing on Me

So, I really need to read a bit more.  After my attempts to mock my entry to TheBigBearButt’s t-shirt design contest in “A Contest I Have to Enter!“, the man himself appeared on my site to let me know that I really shouldn’t be doing that.  Apparently my design was one of the top three of the original pool of candidates, which already should be something to be proud of.1  And, having made it that far, I even got a sort of runner-up prize in the form of a World of Warcraft: Trading Card Game loot card!

Most spiffy.

So, I finally got around to reading my congratulations email from him that told me that he needed my address to send the card2, which I promptly sent — along with my okay to scratch the card and send me the code for my epic loot.  And the loot, it is epic.  Triple-B sent me the card for the spiffy new Path of Illidan, lending me my own little green trail of happiness not unlike what The Betrayer himself has.

For those who have never acquired and turned in a loot card for the Trading Card Game3, the process is rather simple:

  1. Visit Upper Deck’s website to discover what loot is available,4
  2. Head over to Blizzard’s World of Warcraft Promotion Code Retrieval Page,
  3. Select your region and realm, and
  4. Enter the appropriate code.

It’s absolutely necessary to select the correct region and realm.  If you enter the incorrect information, the code will be applied to the wrong server.  This would be considered a very bad thing, which is probably why I double- and triple-checked to make sure that I had selected the Feathermoon US server.  Once this is done, you’ll be provided with yet another code, but this one is specific to the region and realm selected in step three.  Make sure to write this sucker down, because you’ll need it!

Once done, enter the game, head on down to Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale, and visit your friendly neighborhood item redeemer, Landro Longshot.  You’ll have to know what card you’re selecting to redeem it5, but once you select the appropriate one and share the code you’ll be the proud owner of, well, whatever World of Warcraft: Trading Card Game loot that you happened to snag.

In my case, Csilla is now the proud owner of some fifty Path of Illidan.

So, we know that to date Csilla Kovács has been a warrior, a hunter, a rogue, and most recently a shaman, as displayed in the article “When I Grow Up.”  What would pools of trailing green fires of happiness make her?  We know from Maiev Nightsong that “[n]ow [Illidan] is neither Night Elf nor demon — but something more,” but where would that leave Csilla?  I mean, this perky young woman from Elwynn Forest definitely hasn’t consumed the energies of the skull of Gul’dan, but she’s clearly got something going on.

Personally, I think that it makes her even more awesome than before!

Thanks again, TheBigBearButt; I’m infinitely amused!

  1. Which, honestly, it was.  I’m just the self-deriding sort.  I find it infinitely amusing!
  2. Which I want.  Yes, yes, we wants the precious.
  3. Much like myself until this afternoon.
  4. An unnecessary first step, but everyone needs to start somewhere!
  5. I was silly and had to check back on the t-shirt contest page to remember what I had won!

Weeeeeee! Nice one..

Was yours the one with the little cute bear face with an eye bandage?

Zahrah: Aww, thankee!

Draccos: Is not cute! Is strong — like, ummm, bear?

Yes, her image rocks…

Just cause more readers wanted an icepack to the bear face doesn not make the cute teddy any the less awesome.

Hahaha, like most artists your too hard on yourself!

Anyways, grats on the win, that was a cool t-shirt design! Also your loot cards are appropriately epic =D
