Friday Five — Roleplaying Style

Anna over at Too Many Annas1 made a post today inviting people to answer five questions that appear on her site.  In Friday Five - RP Style, however, she asks that you answer the questions not as you would but as your characters would!

For those people who are struggling with the idea of roleplaying in World of Warcraft — whether because they have little idea of what to do or because they claim that they are afraid that they lack any creativity — this is a wonderful and very simple exercise to flex your roleplaying muscles.  Consider it a fun little way to explore your inner roleplayer and get to know your characters a bit better.

For fun, I’ll be answering these questions for a small selection of my girls.  I’ll be focusing in particular on two characters that I rarely speak about on this site since I play them much less frequently.

Teca e’Veritas

  1. What is your character’s name? Teca e’Veritas
  2. Why did he/she pick his/her class? This seven thousand year old draenei didn’t quite pick her class.  Originally Teca was a Vindicator2, having been tutored in the path of the Holy Light of Creation aboard the dimensional ship the Oshu’gun by the naaru K’ure.  Having suffered from the degenerative qualities of fel magic as wielded by the orcs of Draenor, Teca has since lost her connection to the Light even though she hasn’t been transformed into a Broken of Lost One.  She now uses her martial talents as a warrior, though she has adopted the title of knight errant.
  3. What’s the worst trouble he/she ever got into as a child? Though Teca was a studious and affectionate child, she did get into her fair share of trouble. Growing up on the Oshu’gun was often boring inbetween planet visitations, and so she often amused herself by exploring those places that are normally considered off-limits to children.  There was that one mishap with the dimensional drive that would have left the ship stranded for a period of time if she hadn’t been caught!
  4. What is his/her favorite thing to eat? Anything new to her.  Teca enjoys learning more about the world that she is now stranded on and that includes the culinary aspects.  In particular, anything spicy or with a strong taste tantalizes her taste buds.
  5. What does he/she have in his/her pockets? As a self-styled language and cultural enthusiast3, Teca can rarely be found without a pencil and paper.  She often takes notes while studying her new surroundings, particularly while researching the enigmatic murlocs.

Lujza Spiritdancer

  1. What is your character’s name? Lujza Spiritdancer
  2. Why did he/she pick his/her class? Things would have been much easier for Lujza had she picked a different following.  Both of this young tauren’s parents followed a shamanistic tradition and expected their daugher to follow in their hooves.  Unfortunately, Lujza was illsuited to the task and has instead found kinship and guidance under the druids of the Cenarion Circle.
  3. What’s the worst trouble he/she ever got into as a child? Lujza is above all things a troublesome and flightly individual.  It was rare that this tauren was ever not in trouble.  I often imagine that there was some sort of incident involving fire and her tribe’s elder’s tent that occurred in her past the symbolizes this.
  4. What is his/her favorite thing to eat? Lujza isn’t very fond of meat, so anything involving fruits, vegetables, or nuts would be very appealing to her.
  5. What does he/she have in his/her pockets? Lujza is very enarmored with shiny objects, irregardless of their worth.  She often carries bit of seashells and glass — their edges worn down to avoid cutting herself when she plays with them in her pockets as she’s wont to do — which she will sometimes weave into her mane.  She likes the twinkling sounds they create when she moves, though they more frequently announce when this clumbsy tauren crashes into other people or even falls over; Lujza is perhaps one of the clumbsiest people alive, compounded by the fact that she has a very short attention span.
  1. Who is also another proud member of the Feathermoon US roleplaying server — though we’ve never spoken, I think.
  2. Often considered the draeneic equivalent of the paladin.
  3. Teca claims to be fluent in over a dozen languages, though only three can be currently found in Azeroth.
